Office of the Inspector of Prisons Oversight Agreement 2020-2022
This Oversight Agreement has been drawn up by the Department of Justice (‘the Department’) in consultation with the Office of the Inspector of Prisons (‘the OIP’), in accordance with the 2016 edition of the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies (‘the Code of Practice’). This Agreement sets out the broad governance and accountability framework within which the OIP operates, and defines the key roles and responsibilities which underpin the relationship between the OIP and the Department.
